SC Farm Report on Thursday
Cattle at SC Auctions on Wednesday: Compared to last week no
comparisons made on feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales.
Slaughter cows no comparison due to limited comparable sales, slaughter
bulls 7.00 lower based on limited comparable sales. Feeder Steers:
Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 2.80; 500-600 lbs 2.55. Feeder Bulls:
Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none reported; 500-600 lbs none reported.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none reported,
500-600 lbs 2.30. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 127.00-133.00;
Boners 80-85% lean 115.00-137.00; High Dressing 150.00; Lean 85-
90% lean 111.00-128.00; Lean Low Dressing 65.00-109.00. Slaughter bulls:
Average Dressing 140.00-157.00, Low Dressing 120.00-131.50.
Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 2 845-1045 lbs Young to middle Aged
Cow with Calf under 300 lbs 1900.00-1250.00 per pair.
Hogs on Wednesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs 59.30. Sows live
price 300-450 lbs 67.14; 450-500 lbs 71.32; 500-550 lbs 72.62.
SC Grain on Thursday. Corn was 7 cents lower, one; elevator bids 4.10-
4.75, processor bids 4.40-4.55. New crop soybean bids 1 cent lower;
elevator bids 9.63-9.93, processor bids 10.73, and export bids 10.48-
10.51. Wheat bids were 7-11 cents lower; elevator bids 5.05.
Cotton on Thursday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 1.76
higher at 68.03.
